The café
Breakfast on the terrace with snow on the Dhauladhar, and dinner under the glass roof when it gets cold. It is where the day starts and where it tends to end.
The kitchen cooks fresh each day rather than to a fixed menu, which is the whole reason it works. Food is home cooking rather than restaurant cooking, the sort of thing that makes a long stay feel less like being a guest.
It runs from morning through to the evening. In the warm months most people eat outside in the courtyard under the prayer flags; when the weather turns, everything moves under the glass roof of the common room, which is easily the best place in the building on a cold night.
If you have dietary requirements, tell us when you book or mention it to the kitchen a little ahead of the meal. Because nothing is pre-made, there is usually a way to work around it, but the notice genuinely helps.
You do not have to be staying with us to eat here. If you are in Dharamkot and want somewhere quieter than the village cafés, come up.
