The calm end of Dharamkot
Two houses on the same hillside, run by the same people, for guests who came here to do something rather than to party.
Dharamkot has no shortage of places to sleep, and most of them sell the same thing: people, noise, and something happening every night. That is a perfectly good holiday. It is just not what most people who come to this particular village are here for.
They are here for a ten-day course at Tushita, or a yoga immersion fifty metres up the lane, or the Triund ridge, or a season of work somewhere the internet reaches but nobody expects anything of them. All of that asks for a base that is calm, clean and reliable: a place to come back to, rather than a place to be at.
That is the whole idea behind both our houses. Eevolve Hostel is the larger and more sociable of the two, with the dorms, the café and the common room everybody gravitates to. Soma House, a few minutes down the lane, is private rooms only and quieter still.
Guests rate us 9.7 on Hostelworld across 98 reviews and 9.3 on Booking.com across 359. What comes up over and over in those reviews is not the building; it is the staff, the food, and how well people sleep. We will take that.
